Digital Discovery Fund

Funded by the European Union, the Digital Discovery grant supports companies in their digital transition by helping them develop a strategic roadmap. This grant provides funding for external consultancy costs over an 8-to-12-week period.

ELIGABLE ACTIVITES

Discovery

Analyze existing systems, process flow efficiency, data utilization, skills assessment, innovation culture, and cyber-security.

Exploration

Explore process flow improvements, digital services/products, and data-driven decision-making.

Planning

Co-develop a strategic roadmap for digitalization with company leadership and the consultant.

WHO CAN APPLY?

Companies with 10+ full-time staff (Enterprise Ireland clients) or 5+ full-time staff (High Potential Start-Ups) are eligible.
Non-clients employing 10+ full-time staff in manufacturing or eligible services industries can also apply.

GRANT DETAILS

Enterprise Ireland provides 80% grant funding, up to €6,300 (€5,000 grant).
Eligible costs include external consultancy services capped at €900 per day.
Ineligible costs include off-the-shelf technologies, system upgrades, routine consultancy audits, and training.

APPLICATION PROCESS

Complete the Digital Readiness Scorecard.
Express interest to the agency advisor (not relevant for non-EI clients).
Find a suitable consultant (Lean Project Database can help).
Apply online.
Application review takes 1-2 weeks.
Decision made, grant issued and accepted via DocuSign.
Project carried out with the consultant.
Consultant invoices the company.
Company makes a claim to Enterprise Ireland within 12 months.
Company is reimbursed.
Company contacts the agency advisor for follow-up actions.

CHOOSING A CONSULUTANT

Applicants should find a suitable consultant and engage with up to three providers.
Enterprise Ireland does not provide a list of approved consultants.
Consultants engaged should not have a direct financial interest in the company.
