LEO Mentoring Scheme

The LEO Mentoring Scheme aims to help Irish SME’s with business growth by pairing small business owners with experienced consultants to gain the strategic and practical one on one advice necessary to aid company development.

How it works:

As a small business you will be asked to identify key targets and aims which you would like to achieve and be matched with an appropriate advisor. It is then the advisor’s role to offer in the desired areas. This is often achieved through the following actions:

– Listening to the goals and any barriers preventing your SME from achieving them

– Offering advice

– Suggesting areas of improvement and suggesting solutions

– Help with the decision making process

– Share their knowledge and experience

– Assist in the creation of a business plan

Areas of involvement usually include:

Website design and planning

– Developing a financial plan

– Developing a business strategy

Market Research

– Marketing and promotion

– Planning production

– Distribution

Meetings with your designated consultant usually take place over a series of meetings which overall amount to 3-6 hours. If more time is required, this can be discussed with your mentor and programme co-ordinator.

Your mentor will not take on the role of company executive or play any part in the day to day running of the business.
